Overview
Core's Project Management helps you organize and track IT projects with status workflows, team assignments, budget tracking, and ticket linking for complete visibility of project work.
Creating Projects
New Project
- Navigate to Projects
- Click New Project
- Enter project details:
- Name: Descriptive project title
- Company: Client the project is for
- Description: Project scope and objectives
- Start Date: When work begins
- Target End Date: Expected completion
- Configure additional settings
- Click Create Project
Project Fields

Status Workflow
Default Statuses
Projects progress through status stages:
- Planning - Initial scoping and preparation
- In Progress - Active work underway
- On Hold - Paused for external factors
- Completed - Work finished
- Cancelled - Project terminated
Changing Status
- Open the project
- Click the Status dropdown
- Select the new status
- Optionally add a note about the change
- Save
Custom Statuses
Create custom statuses in Settings > Projects > Statuses.
Team Assignment
Assigning Team Members
- Edit the project
- Go to Team section
- Add team members:
- Project Manager: Primary owner
- Team Members: Contributors
- Save changes
Roles and Responsibilities
Define project roles:
- Project Manager: Overall responsibility
- Technical Lead: Technical decisions
- Engineers: Implementation work
- Account Manager: Client relationship
Budget Tracking
Setting Budget
- Create or edit the project
- Enter the Budget amount
- Optionally break down by category:
- Labor
- Hardware
- Software
- Other
Tracking Costs
Track actual vs budgeted costs:
- Time entries: Labor costs from logged time
- Expenses: Direct project expenses
- Running total: Real-time budget consumption
Budget Reports
View budget status:
- Open the project
- Go to Budget tab
- See:
- Budgeted amount
- Spent to date
- Remaining budget
- % consumed
Linking Tickets
Adding Tickets to Projects
Link related tickets:
- Open a ticket
- Select the Project field
- Choose the project
- Save the ticket
Or from the project:
- Open the project
- Go to Tickets tab
- Click Link Ticket
- Search and select tickets
Viewing Project Tickets
See all tickets for a project:
- Open the project
- Click Tickets tab
- Filter by status, assignee, or priority
- Track completion progress
Time and Progress
Time Tracking
Time logged on project tickets aggregates to the project:
- Total hours logged
- Breakdown by technician
- Billable vs non-billable split
Progress Indicators
Track project progress:
- Ticket completion percentage
- Budget consumption
- Time remaining to target date
- Milestone completion
Project Templates
Creating Templates
Save project structures as templates:
- Create a project with standard structure
- Click Save as Template
- Name the template
- Choose which elements to include:
- Default tasks
- Team structure
- Budget template
Using Templates
Start projects from templates:
- Click New Project
- Select From Template
- Choose the template
- Customize for this project
Reporting
Project Reports
Generate project-specific reports:
- Status report: Current state and recent activity
- Budget report: Financial tracking
- Time report: Hours logged by category
- Ticket summary: Work item status
Exporting
Export project data:
- Open the project
- Click Export
- Choose format (PDF or Excel)
- Include desired sections

- Define scope clearly: Document objectives upfront
